Always Buy a Warranty for Electronics

Almost everything these days is electronic. Household appliances, furnishings, entertainment pieces, and so on. And almost all electronic devices have a computer chip in them.

If you ever buy something electronic, don't leave the store without
some sort of warranty or insurance. Almost every electronic device I've bought
has had a problem within the first few months of ownership…and most
have broken down more than once within the first year.

From 1996 to 2004, I had to trade in my notebook computer every single year because of some problem or another. And some years, I had to hand in more than one computer. Luckily, I bought an extended warranty for each computer I had. But my last one, this lovely Sony PCG-GRZ610, I thought I would hold off on the warranty. I figured Sony would be the better route to go instead of Toshiba, HP or Compaq. But was I ever wrong. It doesn't matter what maker the notebook computer comes from, all brands have problems usually within the first year…at least new computers. My experience with used computers or refurbished ones, is that they have all the kinks and problems worked out before I buy them. All my used and refurbished electronics are still running strong and having no problems. It's only the new stuff that has problems.

So if you are planning to buy a computer or anything else computer or electronic, don't hesitate to buy a warranty, even if it is expensive. It's worth it in the long run.
