Enquiring Minds Wanna Know
Don't you just love the Mainstream Media (MSM)? Their reports several weeks ago implied that 10s of thousands of people had probably died in New Orleans, it would take months before the water would be pumped out of New Orleans and that it would be years before people would be able to move back into the city.
But in truth, it took just a few weeks for the water to get pumped out and people to start moving back in. As for the number of dead, only a few hundred people died from Hurricane Katrina, nowhere near the 10s of thousands speculated by the MSM.
With all this and the accusations towards the Bush administration of which none have been true, how can anyone believe the MSM? Yet, they continue on.
Most of the MSM is liberally minded. On the Internet, radio and elsewhere, the Mainstream Media is referred to as liberal. The use of MSM in it's abbreviated form connotes liberalism. If any news organization is conservative, they are referred to by their station name instead, like FOX NEWS, GOPUSA.com or DRUDGEREPORT.com.
The MSM claims to be nonbiased in their news, but anyone can see their news is hate-laced and one-sided, and the anger they exude is pointed towards conservatives and the likes.
So why do people still tune into them when they know the news is out of touch and far from the truth?
The Mainstream Media today can be compared to the magazines people chastise but buy because of their farfetched stories about aliens, three-headed cows that speak Latin or babies born with mustaches and beards that can recite the Bible from cover to cover. These magazines can be found at most checkout counters in supermarkets. The only difference between the MSM and The Enquirer is they use plastic instead of paper.
The Mainstream Media is in the entertainment industry, just like The Enquirer. Watch your favorite Entertainment News station today. ABC, BBC, CBS, CNBC or CNN spin the news the way they want you to hear it!
Walter Cronkite put it concisely when he said, “Our big corporate owners, infected with the greed that marks the end of the 20th century, stretch constantly for ever-increasing profit, condemning quality to the hindmost … compromising journalistic integrity in the mad scramble for ratings and circulation.”
