The True Meaning of Christmas
Christmas doesn`t mean anything without Christ. The word Christmas means the mass or festival of Christ. Without Christ the word only means festival.
The holiday was created to celebrate Jesus Christ`s birthday. It is celebrated by Christians and non-Christians worldwide by giving presents. Non-Christians celebrate it because it is fun to give and receive gifts. Christians celebrate it in the same way, but reflect on the true meaning of the day, which reveres Jesus` birth over 2000 years ago as a gift from God. God sent His one and only Son to earth to be a sacrifice for mankind; those who choose to believe Jesus is the Savior of the world.
It is for the reason alone that non-Christians are in an uproar over the celebration of this worldwide holiday.
But no matter what they feel or believe about the holiday, no one can change the fact that Jesus Christ was born. History shows his birth and death. It is the fear of the meaning of this holiday and what Jesus Christ did that makes people fume and moan about the holiday and try to change it. Their selfish desire drives their to take away the most celebrated holiday throughout the world.
People that don't care to hear about Christ cannot change the true meaning of Christmas.
