Bowing to the Chinese Governemt
The latest headlines in the main news media reads: Google Lacks License to Operate in China
Who cares! Google shouldn’t!
The Chinese government says Google must use an approved Chinese language for their website. Everyone knows what that means, right? Google must use an approved list of Chinese characters that in no way speak ill of the Chinese government.
Where is freedom of speech in that? No Where!
Personally, I can’t stand the Liberal press in America, but I would never censor it. If there were censorship present on the Internet in that way, what I have to say would probably never get seen by others, nor would anyone else that thinks differently from the governing bodies ever be heard.
Google should run their site off their servers in America and other completely free countries around the world, and not worry about what China says. Chinese people probably already acess the search engine illegally in English or Google’s Chinese characters they currently are using on domestic servers.
Chinese people will never have the freedom if every big company around the world continues to bow to every demand from the Chinese government. Big businesses need to deny China what they ask and stand strong against them In The Name Of Freedom. And when the Chinese government no longer has a thriving economy where big businesses used to contribute, then the Chinese government will finally get the hint. They will bow to foreign demands on free speech and to their own people who continually fight for freedom. But until then, China will continue to demand everyone bow to them.
