Clean the Yodogawa!
The Yodogawa is the main river flowing through Osaka. It winds majestically through the Osaka area all the way to the ocean. It is fed by several rivers that meet in the southern Kyoto area which are fed by water from Lake Biwa in Shiga prefecture, mountain streams and runoff. It is a beatiful river…from afar. But once you get up close, it is easy to see the trash and filth that pollute it.
People dump trash all over the place in Japan, randomly throwing it out their car windows along roadsides. This trash in turn gets swept down into streams and eventually makes its way into the Yodogawa.
People play, swim, fish, jetski and waterski in the Yodogawa. With all the trash and garbage in the Yodogawa, it is only a matter of time before it all starts effecting the wildlife and people, assuming it is not already.
People in the Kansai area need to take better care of their waterways or else they are reap what they sow.
