Just downloaded the newest version of Internet Explorer, IE7. On my desktop, I have had no problems to report yet. But I have found a major problem in IE7 running on my Sony Vaio notebook. The problem being I cannot type any URLs in the address bar because the address bar disappears as soon as I begin to type anything into it rendering IE7 useless.
I've tried adjusting the Toolbar settings, but there is no Address Bar even available. I've tried deleting the registries in the RegEdit.exe, but even deleting the files does no good. I've even tried adjusting the screen resolution to see if that would somehow be contributing to the problem. But this does not help a single bit.
IE7 running on my desktop computer runs perfectly so far and I can type address after address without experiencing the Address Bar disappearing.
The differences between the previous version of Internet Explorer and IE7 are huge pluses. Microsoft has even changed a few things in the previous version of IE7 and this version.
In the older version, I was unable to move the tabbed windows around in an order of my choosing. But the newest version allows the tabs to be changed according to my wishes. This version also allows a quick view of all the windows opened in one window using thumbnail images to easily click on to switch from one window to another. This is a great tool as far as I'm concerned especially when I have different windows opened on the same website. Being able to view the pages makes it easier to distinguish similar pages.
IE7 opens pages a lot faster than IE6 and there are a number of other benefits from running the new version of Internet Explorer that make switching a good decision.
Download and install it on your computer. As long as you can type URLs into the Address Bar, it's a good upgrade from the previous versions of IE.
