The People of America Speak
Senators and Congressmen, representatives of the people that voted them into office, have long considered the influence from special interest groups, lobbyists and big businesses as the ear of the nation. But that all changed this week when the Immigration (Amnesty) Bill was put to a second vote.
Democrat Ted Kennedy and Sen. Jon Kyl and the likes are shaking their silver-lined heads in wonder where their power has gone and why they and others were unable to pass the Amnesty Bill into law. Senator Kennedy even had the audacity to say, as if he knows better than the vast majority of the nation, to vow he would fight for the principles of the bill.
People from all over America called, faxed and emailed in their opinions on the bill and overwhelmingly showed the Republican and Democrat Senators they believe the millions of immigrants living and working in America illegally should not receive amnesty.
The majority of those who spoke out against the Amnesty Bill believe the laws already in place for people to immigrate into America legally need to be enforced instead of creating new ones.
The major problems with the legislature is the special interest groups, big businesses and lobbyists that make up the minority vying for what they consider necessary. Their voices in the past have outweighed the voices of the majority. Thanks to grassroots conservatism, the people of America are being heard.
To get a better understanding of all the lobbyists, special interest groups and big businesses, take a look at the list of lobbyists and you’ll soon see where the voice of America is being drowned out.
