Presidential Power Flexes for Paul McCartney

A video of Sir Paul McCartney taking a stab at President Bush is no longer available on YouTube. How did that happen? Probably a call from the White House made the video disappear.

It goes to show just how much weight President Obama and his administration have and hope to get more of by implementing laws to restrict the free flow of information on the Internet in the name of democracy.

Just look at the latest FTC suggestions. They want to tax sites to regulate the flow of information and help media companies stay in business. For more on this, read more here…

As for Paul McCartney, I believe he has shown his true colors with his tasteless clueless jab at President Bush.

“After the last eight years, it’s great to have a President who knows what a library is,” McCartney quipped.

According to the article I just read,

“McCartney is the third recipient of the Gershwin Prize. Hailing from England and having earned no university degrees of his own, the Beatle may not know W. was the first American president to earn a master’s degree in business administration. (The fact the MBA is from Harvard really irks the left.) Not to mention Bush is married to a librarian.”

He might deserve a “Sir” title in front of his name in England, but I would gather that most Americans might have other words they would like to replace his title with.

Here are mine:

  • “My Bammie” Paul McCartney
  • “Classless”
  • “Clueless”
  • ??

What an ARSE!

Federal Trade Commission Seeks Mainstream Media in Marriage

According to the Washington Post, the Federal Trade Commission wants to change how the Internet delivers media and news by “reinventing journalism“.

What is the reason the FTC wants to do this?

“There are reasons for concern that experimentation may not produce a robust and sustainable business model for commercial journalism,”

Sounds more like they want to take control of the Internet to help their buddies in big media keep from going out of business!

The mainstream media, newspapers and radio are getting hit hard from freelance media journalists like Drudgereport and other news sites run by the public sector. Freelance journalists, who report because they love to share information not because a company pays their salary and have to make quota, are causing big media to rethink how they report the news. Their answer to changing the way they do business? Get BIG PAPA, Uncle Sam, to change laws in their favor so they can go about business as usual. They don’t want to change. They like things just as they were before the Internet started taking a huge bite out of their profits.

The FTC is in bed with the mainstream media. It’s obvious and it doesn’t take a well-seasoned card-carrying reporter to see through the facade.

The FTC has suggested taxing sites sharing reported news (news aggregators) “so that the agency can redistribute the funds collected to various newspapers”.

Big Brother and Big Media pledged to be married! Or maybe we are already to late for the wedding. They may have already tied the knot!
