Has the Climate Machine Stopped?

Several months ago, the news was filled with reports of global warming and climate change. It was in newspapers every single day, on reports over the radio and on TV. It was almost impossible to go a day without hearing something about global warming. Companies were selling all sorts of global warming packets, safety kits and devices to help people survive. People were even preparing shelters. Al Gore and many others including the mainstream media were saying the world was coming to an end. People were bashing anyone that said differently. But that isn’t the case nowadays.

When was the last time you read something about climate change or global warming? If you did see something on the matter, did you read it or just cast it aside?

There’s hardly a word about climate change or global warming. Is it because the weather is nice right now and there are no natural disasters to scare anyone? That’s probably true for those who used the topic to make money!…(sneeze…Al Gore!)

I think the whole climate change thing was nothing more than a scare. Some believed the reports they heard about the weather warming up. Way too many believed the “Inconvenient Truth” Al Gore and his associates put out at movie theaters around the world.

It seems as long as the weather is nice and there aren’t any natural disasters, the global warming people aren’t so concerned about the world coming to an end. Either that or they have finally exhausted their propaganda rhetoric. “But hold on…”, our global warming friends might say, “…that’s just the calm before the storm. The world is coming to an end and bad weather is on its way!” and they’ll leave it at that to continue the scare so that when a natural disaster or bad storm does come along, they can continue on.

Personally, I love the peace and quiet right now, and I do believe the world is coming to an end. But I don’t think it’s coming to an end because of global warming or climate change. I believe the world will come to an end when God says it’s time. But that won’t be because of climate change. That will be from His making it so.

Rank Air in Japan

My wife and I took a trip to New Zealand to visit family there a few years into our life in Japan. Little did we know that we had brought something along with us we wish we hadn’t…the dirty nasty Osaka air!

Upon arrival, we thought we’d unpack our luggage and settle into the place we were staying. We opened our suitcases and a terrible smelling wave of air hit us. We immediately slammed the suitcase shut and then realized that the smell was coming from our clothes.

At first, we thought it might be a shirt or two, but it turned out to be the entire suitcase of clothes. We had to wash all of them to get rid of the smell, even though they were just cleaned prior to our departure from Osaka.

After our trip to New Zealand, one day during work, I smelled the same odor coming from a coworker’s clothing. I then realized the odor we experienced on our clothes during our trip was from the polluted air in Osaka.

Now, more often than I wish, I smell the nasty Osaka-Kyoto air on my own clothes. Today is one of those days!

My kids and I played outside today. After only about an hour or so, we came back inside and our clothes had already picked up the bad odor. We had to immediately shed our clothes with what we had on and put something new on just to relax in the house in comfort from the rank odor.

The polluted air odor seems to come on days when there are lots of clouds in the sky and high humidity. If you happen to be outside on one of those types of days, you might want to take along another set of clothes to change into afterwards. Beware of cloudy days in Japan!
