It’s really a simple thing. Supply and Demand are behind it all. One little thing that can have a big effect on the prices of gas is if people stop buying so much of it. But another little thing that can possibly have an even greater effect is if people stop buying the gas from the major gas companies. If people do that, then they’ll have no other alternative buy to lower their prices.

If the major gas companies can’t sell gas at their current prices and the smaller guys sell a lot of gas at whatever prices they charge, then the BIG guys will have to lower their prices. If they do that, then everyone else will have to lower their prices too.

Of course, if everyone also conserved gasoline by carpooling and riding mass transit alternatives like buses, trains and maybe even mixed in a bicycle or walked, if in a close vacinity, then that might also help the prices of gas go down.

So the next time you think about buying gas, try going to a station that is not associated with the major gas companies like Mobil, Exxon and anyother large companies you can think of.

China and Japan have a great deal of grievances between one another; history books, Yasukuni Shrine, the East Sea, the Dalai Lama, human rights and many other things. But the recent earthquake in China has enabled both of the countries to put aside their differences, at least for the time being.

Japan has sent another group of relief aid workers to China, the third group since 1989 to step on Chinese soil to assist with a disaster.

Japan dispatched a small number of rescuers to China in 1989 when floods occurred and in 2003 when the SARS virus broke out.

The most recent group sent to China, however, represents the largest one sent yet.

Hopefully, the people receiving the aid will be able to put aside their differences as well as the government has. It would be hard to believe that anyone in need of assistance would bite the hand that feeds it, or in this case, the hand that helps pull one out from underneath rubble.
