Are you running out of space on your computer? Not me, at least not now!
Last week, I bought a nice new Seagate Barracuda 1 TB (terabyte) serial ATA-300 MBps, 32 MB buffer, 8.5 ms (average) seek time, 3.5″ hard disk drive with a 5-year limited warranty.

Installing it was, of course, a breeze. All I had to do was unplug the computer, pull it out on my desk so I could work with it, unscrew the side panels, vacuum the dust out of the machine that had accumulated over the past week – I clean it quite often - push the new hard drive into one of the extra slots in my machine (holds up to 4 hard disk drives), put 4 screws into the side to hold it in place (2 on one side and 2 on the other), connect the cables to the drive and then to the motherboard (power cable and SATA cable) and turn the machine on.

Once the machine was on, I just right-clicked on My Computer, clicked on Manage, initialized the new drive under Disk Management, then clicked on the new disk and quick formatted the disk. It took a total of about 10 minutes to do it all from start to finish, including the initialization and formatting. For you, the amount of time it takes you may differ based on the CPU speed of your computer and how well you know the inside and outside of your computer.
Once you get it installed, get ready to rumble!
It’s quiet, fast and filled with lots of empty space to add files, photos and videos, or use for you main hard drive to run games and run applications. I’m good to go now for a few more years! I recommend you buy one too!
I can get them for less, here in Japan, than most companies selling them online in America and elsewhere. About US$115.00 + shipping to wherever you live. If it saves you money, let me know and I’ll be more than happy to run to the store, buy one or a bunch of them and send them to you.
